Deep dive
Who can edit
Only church admins can open and save Church general settings. Members see an admins-only message on this page.
General section
The General card contains:
- Church name — required; shown across WorshipDeck for your organization
- Denomination — optional dropdown; helps align content defaults where applicable
Save changes stays disabled until you modify a field (dirty state). The name cannot be empty.
Each section has its own Save changes button — saving General does not save Bibles, and vice versa.
Preferred Bible translations
The Preferred Bible translations section lists available translations. Select every version your church commonly uses.
These preferences are shared with every member of your church. When someone inserts scripture in a presentation, WorshipDeck uses these translations as defaults.
Use the picker to add or remove translations, then click Save changes.
After you save
Changes apply immediately for new scripture inserts and church-wide displays of your church name. Existing presentation content is not automatically rewritten.
Preferred translations feed Bible pickers in the presentation editor, sermon notes, and verse insert flows. See Sermon notes overview for manuscript and AI workflows.

Tips
- Set preferred Bibles before your team builds sermon or scripture slides — saves rework later.
- Choose your denomination; it can improve catalog defaults and AI context.
- If you change your church name, notify your team so they recognize the organization in WorshipDeck.
- You can return anytime to add more Bible translations as your church adopts new versions.
[!note] Profile, security, and appearance are personal account settings — not covered here. Open them from the Account group in Settings.
Troubleshooting
Save changes is disabled
- Edit at least one field in that section. The button enables only when there are unsaved changes.
I cannot open Church settings
- Confirm you are a church Admin. Ask another admin to update your role under Members.
Bible translations do not appear in the picker
- Contact WorshipDeck support if expected translations are missing from the catalog.
Changes did not stick after save
- Wait for the success toast, then refresh the page. If the problem continues, check your network connection and try again.
