Preferred Bible translation

Choose your personal default translation for scripture and AI features.

Set your default Bible translation for Insert Verse, sermon notes, and AI generation. Your church admin controls which translations are available.

Quick start

  1. Open SettingsBible (/settings/bible).
  2. Choose a Language and Translation from your church's available Bibles.
  3. Your choice saves immediately and becomes your personal default.

You should now have a preferred translation for Insert Verse, sermon notes, and AI features.

Church vs personal Bible settings

Admins configure the church list once. Each team member chooses their own default from that list.

First use auto-save

If you have not chosen a translation here yet, WorshipDeck saves the first translation you use when you insert scripture (for example in Insert Verse or sermon note Bible lookup). After that, your stored preference only changes when you update it on this page.

You can still pick a different translation for a single insert without changing your saved default.

Where your preference is used

Your preferred translation pre-selects:

  • Insert Verse in the presentation editor
  • Bible lookup in Sermon notes
  • AI sermon prep and speech generation (when you do not pick another translation)

Tips

  • Set your preference before your first Sunday if you know which translation you prefer.
  • If your church adds new translations under Church general, return here to switch anytime.
  • Dual-language Insert Verse can still use a separate secondary translation for that workflow.

Troubleshooting

No translations in the picker

An admin must add preferred Bible translations under SettingsChurchGeneral. See Church general settings.

My choice does not stick after inserting verses

That is expected once you have a saved preference here. Usage in Insert Verse or sermon notes no longer overwrites your default — change it on this page instead.
