Workstation

Download the desktop app and claim each booth with New workstation.

Download the Windows or Mac app, then claim each booth with New workstation (nickname, optional location, and the pair code from the home screen). Cards show online status, app version, and last seen. Displays still pair under Screens.

Quick start

  1. Open SettingsWorkstation (/settings/workstation). Church admins only. Pair the desktop app here before you add outputs on Screens.
  2. Download WorshipDeck for Windows or WorshipDeck for Mac from the card at the top of this page (the matching installer opens for your computer).
  3. Install and open the app on the presentation computer. The home screen shows a six-character pair code.
  4. Click New workstation.
  5. Enter a Nickname (for example Sanctuary or Kids room), an optional Location, and the pair code, then click Claim workstation.
  6. The desktop status bar changes to Online. Displays, Presentations, and Services unlock in the app. Presenter is the operator console — it opens only when you click Present on a card (or Join if the church is already live).

You should see a card for the claimed workstation with nickname, online status, app and version, and last-seen time.

Deep dive

Workstation vs screens

ConceptWhereWhat it does
WorkstationThis pageClaims a WorshipDeck desktop install to this church (booth / console)
ScreenScreensNames a physical output (projector, TV, or local monitor)
Pair displayScreensBinds a display-role output to a specific screen

Do not enter a workstation pair code in Pair display. Display codes still pair under Screens.

You can claim more than one workstation — for example one computer in the sanctuary and another in a kids room. Each install has its own pair code and card.

Download and claim

The same Windows and Mac installer cards that appear on Screens also appear here, filtered to your operating system. Use this page to install the host, then claim it.

New workstation opens a dialog (the pair code is not on the page). Nickname is required; location is optional. After a claim, the pair code is cleared and that install stays attached to this church until you unpair it.

Cards, online status, and version

Each claimed booth is its own card:

  • Nickname and Online / Offline
  • Location (if set), Windows app or Mac app, and the reported app version
  • Last seen

Online follows the desktop heartbeat, the same way remote displays show presence on Screens. When a newer installer is available than the version the booth reports, the card shows Upgrade to v… with a download link.

Use the pencil to edit nickname and location. Unpair returns the desktop app to its home pairing screen and locks Displays, Presentations, and Services again.

Presentations, Services, and Presenter

After the booth is online:

  • Windows File (or Mac Window) opens Displays, Presentations, and Services. Those catalogs are read-only pickers.
  • Click Present on a card to open Presenter — preview, Start/End, the filmstrip, and the local-only badge. Presenter is not in the File or Window app menus.
  • If another booth already went live, the library shows a banner (for example Morning Worship is live) with Join or Stay. Join opens Presenter on that item. Stay leaves you in the catalog.

Next steps

After the workstation is online, add outputs on Screens and build templates on Screen layouts.
