Screens

Quick start

1. If you will use the WorshipDeck desktop app, pair it first on Workstation. Displays, Presentations, and Services stay locked in the app until that church claim is done. Click Present on a card to open Presenter. Windows and Mac installers are on Workstation (and also on this page).
2. Open Settings → Screens (/settings/screens). Church admins only.
3. If you will use a dedicated display host, install it: WorshipDeck for Windows, WorshipDeck for Mac, or Fire TV (Amazon Appstore on the TV). The install cards at the top of this page start expanded the first time; later visits they stay collapsed until you open them.
4. Click New screen.
5. Enter a Screen name (for example Main, Lobby, Stream).
6. Choose Output type: Local (browser window on the presenter computer) or Remote (paired TV or display).
7. For Remote, save the screen, then click Pair display and enter the six-character code from Fire TV, WorshipDeck for Windows, or WorshipDeck for Mac. Do not enter a workstation pair code here.
8. For Local, save the screen, then click Bind to monitor and select the physical display.

You should see each screen in the list with binding or pairing status and an online/offline indicator for remote displays.

Deep dive

Screens vs layouts vs present mode

This page defines output destinations — the TVs, projectors, and monitors your church uses. It is setup work you do once.

Create or edit a screen

Click New screen or Edit on an existing row. Fields:

• Screen name — required; use names volunteers recognize (Center TV, Stage left)
• Location — optional venue note (Main hall, Lobby)
• Output type — Local or Remote

Local screens

Local screens open as browser popup windows on the presenter computer during present mode.

After saving:

1. Click Bind to monitor (or Re-bind)
2. Select the physical display in the modal
3. Click Apply

The list shows Bound to {label} or Not bound on this computer. Bindings are per workstation — bind on the computer you use on Sunday, not just your editing laptop.

Use Clear binding to remove the monitor assignment without deleting the screen.

Automatic fullscreen on Windows (presentation PC)

On Windows, Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, and similar) normally require a click inside every local output window before it can go fullscreen. That slows down Open all local screens on multi-monitor setups.

WorshipDeck provides a small one-time Windows tool that registers this church’s app origin for automatic fullscreen. Run it once per presentation PC (as Administrator), then restart the browser.

Why use it

• Local output windows can enter fullscreen without the Click for full screen overlay.
• Open all local screens becomes a true one-click flow for external monitors.
• Without it, WorshipDeck still works — each output may ask for a click the first time.

How to install

1. On the presentation computer, open Settings → Screens.
2. In Automatic fullscreen on Windows, click Download for Windows.
3. Right-click WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy.exe → Run as administrator.
4. Choose Install in the menu (registers Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other major Chromium browsers).
5. Fully quit the browser (check Task Manager for leftover Chrome/Edge processes), then reopen it.
6. In present mode, use Open all local screens and confirm external outputs fullscreen without a click.

Use Check status in the tool anytime to confirm the policy is present for a browser.

Also allow pop-ups and Window Management for WorshipDeck in the browser (lock icon → site settings). Those permissions are separate from this tool.

How to install

The zip contains WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy.mobileconfig (install this), optional CLI tools (WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy-arm64 for Apple silicon, WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy-x64 for Intel), and README.txt. Unsigned profiles (and unsigned binaries) show a macOS warning. That is expected until they are signed.

1. On the presentation Mac, open Settings → Screens.
2. In Automatic fullscreen on Mac, click Download for Mac.
3. Unzip WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy.macos.zip.
4. Double-click WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy.mobileconfig.
5. Open System Settings → General → Device Management (on some macOS versions this is Profiles).
6. Select WorshipDeck Presentation Policy → Install. Enter an administrator password if asked. Approve the unsigned-profile warning if it appears.
7. Fully quit Chrome, Edge, or Brave. In Activity Monitor, quit leftover browser processes if they are still running.
8. Reopen the browser. In present mode, use Open all local screens and confirm external outputs fullscreen without a click.

Optional: CLI instead of double-clicking the profile

On Apple silicon run WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy-arm64. On Intel run WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy-x64. Use the on-screen Install menu, or run ./WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy-arm64 install. That writes and opens the .mobileconfig. Finish in System Settings as above.

To remove the policy later: System Settings → General → Device Management (or Profiles) → WorshipDeck Presentation Policy → Remove, enter an administrator password if asked, then fully quit and reopen the browser. WorshipDeck still works after removal. External outputs fall back to the click-to-fullscreen overlay.

Also allow pop-ups and Window Management for WorshipDeck in the browser (lock icon → site settings). Those permissions are separate from this profile.

This Screens page shows the Windows helper only on Windows and the Mac helper only on Mac. Chromebooks do not use either tool.

WorshipDeck for Windows

WorshipDeck for Windows is a multi-monitor display host for Windows 10/11 x64. Each output binds to a physical monitor and pairs as a Remote screen. It is not the browser operator console — you still present from the web app.

Do not confuse it with the Automatic fullscreen on Windows tool above. That small policy tool is for Local browser popup outputs; this app hosts paired Remote outputs.

How to install

1. Download WorshipDeck for Windows from Settings → Workstation (or the matching card on this page).
2. Run WorshipDeckSetup.exe. Approve the administrator prompt if Windows asks. The installer places WorshipDeck in Program Files, adds a Start Menu shortcut, and installs WebView2 if it is missing. You do not need the .NET Desktop Runtime.
3. Open WorshipDeck from the Start Menu. Claim the booth on Workstation with New workstation — Displays, Presentations, and Services stay locked until the app is paired.
4. After the status bar shows Online, open the Displays workspace, add a display, choose its physical monitor, and give it a nickname.
5. Copy that display's six-character pair code.
6. Back on this Screens page, create or edit a Remote screen and click Pair display.
7. Enter the display code (not the workstation home-screen code). Repeat with a separate Remote screen for each Windows output.

If a projector or TV was off when you opened the app, turn it on, then click Refresh on the Displays page (F5). See Reconnect a projector or TV.

To remove the app later, use Windows Settings → Apps (search for WorshipDeck). Pairings and connection settings stay under %AppData%\WorshipDeck so a reinstall can pick them up.

Each paired output opens borderless fullscreen on its assigned monitor only while its presentation or service is live. Pair codes and monitor bindings are per output, not per workstation.

While online, the Windows app downloads presentations, services, media, and output pages for its paired monitors. Items marked Ready offline can start from desktop Presenter without a server connection, including after an app restart. Pairing, sync, browser operation, and remote Android or Fire TV outputs still require internet. See Prepare the booth for offline presenting.

WorshipDeck for Mac

WorshipDeck for Mac is a multi-monitor display host for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 13+. Each output binds to a physical monitor and pairs as a Remote screen. It is not the browser operator console — you still present from the web app.

Do not confuse it with the Automatic fullscreen on Mac profile above. That small policy profile is for Local browser popup outputs; this app hosts paired Remote outputs.

How to install

1. Download WorshipDeck for Mac from Settings → Workstation (or the matching card on this page).
2. Open WorshipDeck.pkg and follow the installer. macOS may warn that the package is from an unidentified developer — use System Settings → Privacy & Security to allow it if needed.
3. Open WorshipDeck from Applications. Claim the booth on Workstation with New workstation — Displays, Presentations, and Services stay locked until the app is paired.
4. After the status bar shows Online, add a display, choose its physical monitor, and give it a nickname.
5. Copy that display's six-character pair code.
6. Back on this Screens page, create or edit a Remote screen and click Pair display.
7. Enter the display code (not the workstation home-screen code). Repeat with a separate Remote screen for each Mac output.

If a projector or TV was off when you opened the app, turn it on, then click Refresh on the Displays page (⌘R). See Reconnect a projector or TV.

Reconnect a projector or TV

WorshipDeck for Windows and Mac remember each display you add, including its pairing. They do not watch for a cable or power change by themselves. After you turn on a projector or plug in a TV, click Refresh on the Displays page (refresh icon) so the app rematches saved displays to the monitors that are now connected.

The Refresh button on the Displays page does the same thing (F5 on Windows, ⌘R on Mac).

Refresh does not unpair a screen, delete a display, or send slides to the laptop when the bound monitor is still missing.

Projector was off when you opened the app

1. Turn the projector on and wait until Windows or macOS shows it as a display.
2. Click Refresh.
3. Confirm the row shows the projector name instead of Saved monitor not found.
4. Start presenting from the web app. If you already went live before the projector was on, click Refresh again so the fullscreen window opens on the projector — not the laptop.

Church projector and home TV

Add two Displays and pair each to its own Remote screen — one for the church projector, one for the home TV. When you open the app at church, the TV row stays in the list as Saved monitor not found. At home, the projector row does the same. Present to the screen that matches where you are. The disconnected display stays paired and does not take over the laptop.

If you only have the church display so far and you connect a TV that is the same size as the projector, Refresh may rematch that church display onto the TV. Add a second display for a second screen. Do not rely on rematch to create a new pairing.

If two unused screens share the same resolution and neither matches the saved position, rematch does nothing. Click Edit and pick the monitor.

Fire TV

WorshipDeck Display for Fire TV is installed from the Amazon Appstore on the Fire TV, not from this computer. There is no PC download.

How to install

1. On the Fire TV, open the Amazon Appstore.
2. Search for WorshipDeck Display.
3. Install the app and launch it.
4. When the pairing screen appears, note the six-character code.
5. In WorshipDeck, open Settings → Screens, create or edit a Remote screen, and click Pair display.
6. Enter the code.

The app is currently available on the Amazon Appstore only (not Google Play). After pairing, the list shows Paired and Online or Offline presence.

Remote screens

Remote screens connect to a paired display output, including Fire TV, WorshipDeck for Windows, and WorshipDeck for Mac.

After saving a remote screen:

1. For Fire TV, optionally enable Allow remote control to let the TV remote advance slides during live presentations. WorshipDeck for Windows does not provide slide controls.
2. Click Pair display
3. Enter the 6-character pair code shown on the display device
4. Click Pair display in the modal

When paired, the list shows Paired: {deviceId} and Online or Offline presence.

Re-pair replaces the paired device. Unpair returns the display to its pairing screen.

Pair WorshipDeck for Windows

Install the app first — see WorshipDeck for Windows. Then:

1. Open the Windows app's Displays workspace.
2. If the projector or TV just came on, click Refresh.
3. Add a display, choose its physical monitor, and give it a nickname.
4. Copy that display's six-character pair code.
5. In this Screens page, create or edit a Remote screen and click Pair display.
6. Enter the code. Repeat with a separate Remote screen for each Windows output.

Pair WorshipDeck for Mac

Install the app first — see WorshipDeck for Mac. Then:

1. Open the Mac app's Displays window.
2. If the projector or TV just came on, click Refresh.
3. Add a display, choose its physical monitor, and give it a nickname.
4. Copy that display's six-character pair code.
5. In this Screens page, create or edit a Remote screen and click Pair display.
6. Enter the code. Repeat with a separate Remote screen for each Mac output.

Pair Fire TV

Install WorshipDeck Display from the Amazon Appstore on the TV — see Fire TV. Then use Pair display with the six-character code shown on the pairing screen.

Pair code deep link

If a display shows a pair code URL with ?pair=CODE, opening that link on a computer logged into WorshipDeck can pre-fill the pair modal for an unpaired remote screen.

Delete a screen

Delete removes the screen from every screen layout that references it. Confirm before deleting hardware you still use.

Tips

• Create screens before layouts — layouts can only include screens that exist and are bound.
• Name screens by location, not content (Main projector, not Lyrics).
• Bind monitors on the actual presentation computer, not a home laptop.
• On Windows or Mac presentation computers, install the Automatic fullscreen helper once (this page) so local outputs do not need a per-window click.
• Pair Fire TV, Windows, and Mac outputs during setup day — test Online status before Sunday.
• After you turn on a projector or plug in a TV, click Refresh on Displays before you go live.
• For a church projector and a home TV, add two Displays and pair two Remote screens. Do not reuse one display for both.
• Leave Allow remote control off unless your Fire TV workflow needs TV-remote slide advance; the Windows host does not use it.

[!tip] A single-projector church may need only one Local screen. Add more when you introduce lobby TVs or a stream feed.

Troubleshooting

Pair code expired

Get a fresh code on the display device and try Pair display again.

That display is already paired to another screen

Unpair the other screen first, or use a different physical display.

This screen is already paired to another device

Click Unpair or Re-pair on this screen before pairing a new device.

Screen shows offline

• Confirm the display device is powered on and connected to the network.
• Re-pair if the device was factory reset.
• Check that WorshipDeck is running on the display app or browser.

Not bound on this computer

• Click Bind to monitor on this workstation.
• Bindings from another computer do not transfer — each presenter PC needs its own binding.

Every local output asks me to click for full screen

On Windows, download and run the Automatic fullscreen tool from this page as Administrator, then restart the browser. On a Mac, download the Mac zip, double-click WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy.mobileconfig, install WorshipDeck Presentation Policy in System Settings → General → Device Management (or Profiles), then fully quit leftover browser processes in Activity Monitor and reopen. See Automatic fullscreen on Windows or Automatic fullscreen on Mac above. If the overlay still appears, confirm you restarted the browser completely and that you are presenting from the same WorshipDeck site the policy registered.

Saved monitor not found (Windows or Mac app)

The bound projector or TV is not connected right now. Turn it on, then click Refresh on Displays. The display stays in the list and stays paired.

If you already started live before the monitor appeared, click Refresh again so the fullscreen window opens on that monitor.

Refresh put the church display on my home TV

That can happen when the TV is the only unused screen with the same resolution as the projector and you have not added a second display yet. Click Edit and pick the TV only if you want that pairing there. For two locations, add a second display and pair a second Remote screen.

Layouts only include screens bound on this computer (local) or configured as remote (paired). See Screen layouts.
