Quick start

1. Open Settings → Screens (/settings/screens). Church admins only.
2. Click New screen.
3. Enter a Screen name (for example Main, Lobby, Stream).
4. Choose Output type: Local (browser window on the presenter computer) or Remote (paired TV or display).
5. For Remote, save the screen, then click Pair display and enter the six-character code from Android TV or WorshipDeck for Windows.
6. For Local, save the screen, then click Bind to monitor and select the physical display.

You should see each screen in the list with binding or pairing status and an online/offline indicator for remote displays.

Deep dive

Screens vs layouts vs present mode

This page defines output destinations — the TVs, projectors, and monitors your church uses. It is setup work you do once.

Create or edit a screen

Click New screen or Edit on an existing row. Fields:

• Screen name — required; use names volunteers recognize (Center TV, Stage left)
• Location — optional venue note (Main hall, Lobby)
• Output type — Local or Remote

Local screens

Local screens open as browser popup windows on the presenter computer during present mode.

After saving:

1. Click Bind to monitor (or Re-bind)
2. Select the physical display in the modal
3. Click Apply

The list shows Bound to {label} or Not bound on this computer. Bindings are per workstation — bind on the computer you use on Sunday, not just your editing laptop.

Use Clear binding to remove the monitor assignment without deleting the screen.

Automatic fullscreen on Windows (presentation PC)

On Windows, Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, and similar) normally require a click inside every local output window before it can go fullscreen. That slows down Open all local screens on multi-monitor setups.

WorshipDeck provides a small one-time Windows tool that registers this church’s app origin for automatic fullscreen. Run it once per presentation PC (as Administrator), then restart the browser.

Why use it

• Local output windows can enter fullscreen without the Click for full screen overlay.
• Open all local screens becomes a true one-click flow for external monitors.
• Without it, WorshipDeck still works — each output may ask for a click the first time.

How to install

1. On the presentation computer, open Settings → Screens.
2. In Automatic fullscreen on Windows, click Download for Windows.
3. Right-click WorshipDeck.PresentationPolicy.exe → Run as administrator.
4. Choose Install in the menu (registers Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other major Chromium browsers).
5. Fully quit the browser (check Task Manager for leftover Chrome/Edge processes), then reopen it.
6. In present mode, use Open all local screens and confirm external outputs fullscreen without a click.

Use Check status in the tool anytime to confirm the policy is present for a browser.

Also allow pop-ups and Window Management for WorshipDeck in the browser (lock icon → site settings). Those permissions are separate from this tool.

macOS and Linux do not use this Windows tool — follow any on-screen fullscreen prompt on those platforms.

Remote screens

Remote screens connect to a paired display output, including Android TV and WorshipDeck for Windows.

After saving a remote screen:

1. For Android TV, optionally enable Allow remote control to let the TV remote advance slides during live presentations. WorshipDeck for Windows does not provide slide controls.
2. Click Pair display
3. Enter the 6-character pair code shown on the display device
4. Click Pair display in the modal

When paired, the list shows Paired: {deviceId} and Online or Offline presence.

Re-pair replaces the paired device. Unpair returns the display to its pairing screen.

Pair WorshipDeck for Windows

WorshipDeck for Windows can host several display outputs from one Windows 10/11 x64 workstation:

1. Open the Windows app's Displays workspace.
2. Add a display, choose its physical monitor, and give it a nickname.
3. Copy that display's six-character pair code.
4. In this Screens page, create or edit a Remote screen and click Pair display.
5. Enter the code. Repeat with a separate Remote screen for each Windows output.

Each paired output opens borderless fullscreen on its assigned monitor only while its presentation or service is live. Pair codes and monitor bindings are per output, not per workstation.

The Windows app is a display host, not the browser operator console. It requires a reliable internet connection and does not provide offline presenting or an on-device presentation library.

Do not confuse it with the Automatic fullscreen on Windows tool above. That small policy tool is for Local browser popup outputs; WorshipDeck for Windows hosts paired Remote outputs.

Pair code deep link

If a display shows a pair code URL with ?pair=CODE, opening that link on a computer logged into WorshipDeck can pre-fill the pair modal for an unpaired remote screen.

Delete a screen

Delete removes the screen from every screen layout that references it. Confirm before deleting hardware you still use.

Tips

• Create screens before layouts — layouts can only include screens that exist and are bound.
• Name screens by location, not content (Main projector, not Lyrics).
• Bind monitors on the actual presentation computer, not a home laptop.
• On Windows presentation PCs, install the Automatic fullscreen tool once (this page) so local outputs do not need a per-window click.
• Pair Android TV and Windows outputs during setup day — test Online status before Sunday.
• Leave Allow remote control off unless your Android TV workflow needs TV-remote slide advance; the Windows host does not use it.

[!tip] A single-projector church may need only one Local screen. Add more when you introduce lobby TVs or a stream feed.

Troubleshooting

Pair code expired

Get a fresh code on the display device and try Pair display again.

That display is already paired to another screen

Unpair the other screen first, or use a different physical display.

This screen is already paired to another device

Click Unpair or Re-pair on this screen before pairing a new device.

Screen shows offline

• Confirm the display device is powered on and connected to the network.
• Re-pair if the device was factory reset.
• Check that WorshipDeck is running on the display app or browser.

Not bound on this computer

• Click Bind to monitor on this workstation.
• Bindings from another computer do not transfer — each presenter PC needs its own binding.

Every local output asks me to click for full screen

On Windows, download and run the Automatic fullscreen tool from this page as Administrator, then restart the browser. See Automatic fullscreen on Windows above. If the overlay still appears, confirm you restarted the browser completely and that you are presenting from the same WorshipDeck site the tool registered.

Layouts only include screens bound on this computer (local) or configured as remote (paired). See Screen layouts.
