Services overview
How services, presentations, and service items fit together.
Learn the WorshipDeck services mental model: build an ordered setlist from presentations, then present the full worship flow live.
Quick start
- Know the three pieces: a presentation is one deck; a service is an ordered worship setlist; a service item is one presentation slot in that order (the same deck can appear more than once).
- Open Services from the sidebar (
/services). - Click New service, enter a Service name, and click Create — WorshipDeck opens the service builder (there is no
/services/newpage). - Add presentations in order in the builder until the setlist is ready.
- Click Present when the service has at least one item → service present mode.
- Optionally add decks from the presentations library (Add to service / Services panel) — finish ordering in the builder.
You should know when to use Services vs a single presentation, and which help article covers the library, builder, automation, and live present.
Deep dive
Service vs presentation vs service item
| Concept | What it is | Where you work |
|---|---|---|
| Presentation | One deck with slides and outputs | Presentations library + editor |
| Service | Ordered worship setlist for one flow (Sunday morning, midweek, etc.) | Services library + service builder |
| Service item | One presentation slot in that setlist | Service builder Service order |
Need only one song or announcement on screen? Use presentation present mode from Presentations instead of a full service.
Build → present workflow
Services library → Service builder → Service present → Live outputs
- Library — browse folders, create services, open Edit — see Services library.
- Builder — add presentations, reorder the setlist, open decks in the editor, configure per-item automation — see Service builder and Service item automation.
- Present — run the full setlist live — see Service present mode. For the wider live mental model, see Presenting overview.
Present stays disabled until the service has at least one presentation. The tooltip reads: Add at least one presentation before presenting.
When to use Services vs the presentations library
| Goal | Start here |
|---|---|
| Build or reorder a full Sunday setlist | Services → service builder |
| Add one deck while browsing presentations | Presentations library Add to service / Services panel — see Presentations library |
| Edit slide content | Presentation editor (open from builder or library) |
| Run one deck live | Presentations → Present |
Both paths share the same setlist. If you added decks from Presentations and the order looks wrong, open the service in the service builder to finish ordering.
[!note] The service builder and service item automation articles ship with this Phase 7 help set. Links work once those articles are published.
Workspace beta (optional)
Some churches see Try Workspace beta or Open Workspace on the Services library (or a default-navigation banner). Workspace keeps the service, artifacts, tasks, and Ezra together; classic /services and the builder remain supported. For the beta shell, see Service workspace overview. This help set documents classic Services only.

Tips
- Use a service when you need one live session across multiple decks; use presentation present for a single deck.
- You can add the same presentation more than once — each add creates a separate service item.
- Classic Services does not expose schedule start/end fields in the library UI; organize by folders and titles instead.
Troubleshooting
Present is disabled on my service card
- Add at least one presentation in the service builder. Tooltip: Add at least one presentation before presenting.
I only need one song
- You may not need a service. Open the presentation and use Present from the Presentations library — see Presentation present mode.
I added decks from Presentations but the order is wrong
- Open the service in the service builder to reorder.
