Create a presentation

Quick start

1. From the presentations library, click New presentation (/presentations/new).
2. Step 1 — Details: enter Presentation name, choose Type and Screen shape.
3. Optionally pick Screen layout (or keep Church default).
4. Click Next.
5. Step 2 — Theme: search or filter themes; click one to select it.
6. Click Next (or Create if you skipped the service step).
7. Step 3 — Service (optional): pick a service or Skip, then click Create.

You should land in the presentation editor for the new deck (or in the service editor if you added to a service).

Deep dive

When the wizard appears

Open New presentation from:

• The library header (/presentations)
• An empty library or folder state
• Inside a folder — the new deck is created in that folder

If you arrived from a service editor, the wizard may skip the optional service step and return you to that service after creation.

Step indicator

The subtitle shows Step X of Y:

• 2 steps — Details → Theme → Create (when Add to a service is unchecked)
• 3 steps — Details → Theme → Service (when Add to a service is checked on step 1)

Step 1 — Details

Field	Options / notes
Presentation name	Required — for example Sunday Service
Type	General, Worship, Sermon, Scripture, Announcement, Prayer, Game
Screen shape	Wide (16:9), Vertical (9:16), Classic (4:3)
Screen layout	Church default or a layout from your church — see Screen layouts
Add to a service	Optional checkbox — enables step 3

Click Next when the name is filled in.

Type affects editor behavior (for example Worship enables the song editor). You can change most settings later in the editor.

Screen layout assigns which multi-screen template this deck uses during present mode. Template design is admin work under Settings; assignment happens here and in the editor.

Step 2 — Theme

Choose a visual Theme for the deck:

• Filter by Popular, All, a category tab, or Search themes (Popular is the default)
• Click a theme card to select it (required)
• Preview how slides will look with that theme

If you click Next without a theme, you see Select a theme to continue.

When Add to a service was not checked, the primary button reads Create and finishes the wizard after this step.

Step 3 — Service (optional)

Only appears when Add to a service was checked on step 1:

• Recent services — click a service to select it
• Create a new service — enter a name and select the new-service option
• Skip — create the deck without adding to a service
• Create — create the deck and append it to the selected (or new) service

After adding to a service, WorshipDeck opens the service editor so you can reorder items.

After creation

The new deck starts with a blank slide (or worship structure for Worship type). Add content in the editor.

What you can change later

Everything from step 1 can be updated in the editor except folder placement (use Move to folder in the library):

• Title, type, aspect ratio, screen layout
• Theme — Change theme in the toolbar
• Service membership — Add to service from the library or editor

Tips

• Pick Screen shape to match your primary projector or stream output.
• Choose Worship type for song decks — it unlocks the worship song editor.
• Leave Screen layout on Church default until you need a custom multi-screen setup.
• Skip the service step during the week; drag decks into the Services panel when building Sunday's setlist.
• Select a theme that matches your church branding — you can switch themes without rebuilding slides.

[!note] Preferred Bible translations for Insert Verse come from Church general settings, not this wizard.

Troubleshooting

Next is disabled on step 1

• Enter a Presentation name — the field is required.

Cannot continue on step 2

• Select a theme. Select a theme to continue appears if you click Next / Create without one.

Create is disabled on step 3

• Select a Recent service, or enable Create a new service and enter a name.

Could not create the presentation

• Check your network connection and try again.
• Confirm you still have access to the active church.

Wrong folder

• New decks inherit the folder you were viewing when you clicked New presentation. Move the deck with Move to folder in the library.

No screen layouts in the dropdown

• An admin must create layouts under Settings → Screen layouts. Until then, use Church default.
