Attach sermon to service

Quick start

1. Open a sermon note from a service workspace (not from the standalone library).
2. Ensure Sermon tab has speech content.
3. Generate or link a presentation from the sermon (see Presentation from sermon).
4. On the Sermon tab, click Attach to service.
5. Confirm in the attach modal.

You should see the note and presentation linked to the service order.

Deep dive

When this feature appears

Attach to service is a beta feature. It appears only when all of these are true:

• sermonServiceAttachment is enabled for your church
• You opened the note from a service workspace (?workspaceReturn= supplies attachServiceId)
• The Sermon tab has speech content
• A presentation is already linked to the note (generate one first if needed)

If you opened the note from the standalone library, the attach button is hidden.

Workspace return flow

When you navigate from a service workspace to edit sermon notes:

• The header Back button returns to the workspace instead of the notes library (see service workspace layout for panel and return context)
• Attach to service becomes available on the Sermon tab once prerequisites are met

What gets attached

The attach flow links:

• The sermon note (manuscript and prep)
• The presentation generated from or linked to the note

to the active service order you were working from.

Linked artifacts panel

After attaching, the editor Linked services and presentations panel lists the service connection. Use this to verify the link succeeded.

Tips

• Generate the presentation before attaching so the service has both manuscript and slides.
• Return to the workspace after attaching to continue planning the rest of the order.

Troubleshooting

Attach to service is missing

• Open the note from the service workspace, not the library.
• Confirm sermon speech and a linked presentation exist.
• The feature may not be enabled for your church yet (beta).

Missing presentation error

• Generate a presentation from the sermon first, then retry attach.

Attachment failed

• Refresh the editor and check the linked artifacts panel.
• Confirm you still have access to the service order.
